- For the second week running, Geoff dominates the competition,
only to fade at the end under the onslaught of a strong finish,
this time from Tony. For the second week runnning, Alan opens
with a birdie but suffers from erratic play which causes him
to fall from contention. Nevertheless two birdies and three pars
show that he is still a force to be reckonned with. Mike started
to show a bit of form. In spite of six drops and two bunkers
from his opening shots, he managed to break the century for the
first time in months and finish third.
- The real drama however, was in the battle between Geoff and
Tony. Geoff was either on the money or one under throughout the
first nine, finishing level at half way. He had a four point
lead o ver Tony with Alan and Gavin a shot further behind. Things
liooked good, as he went one-under after the par five, but then
he found sand on the par three and was a little errant on the
next few holes. He was still only one of thepace with three to
go. In the meantime Tony was working hard, but had slipped to
six over. Over the next three holes Tony held his par, but Geoff
fell a further five off the pace. A tie at six over, but Geoff
wins on countback.
- In the Stableford competition, Gavin looks strong with Tony
and Geoff battling for second place.
