SEE HIM SLIMMED DOWN CONSIDERABLY.

- TRICKY PUTTING ON THE SECOND kept the competitors close
together and keyed up for a thrilling Bunter trophy. Only
Mike lagged behind after his eight start. Suddenly, Al hit two
pars to go with his opener and was looking good. The two long
holes blew him away, however and his fifteen shots were no match
for dave's eleven. It was now Dave all the way. Six pars and
eight bogies added up to a on-off-the-record 84. A wayward tee-shot
on 17 lead to his only blob, as he finished six clear of Con,
whose par on 17 overhauled Mike, who had scrambled back into
second place by the eleventh.
- In the matchplay, Alan's early form disappeared, as he went
from two-up after four to five-down after ten. A gallant fight-back
featuring three pars in a four-hole streak, vanished with a double-bogie
on sixteen to give it to Con four-and-two.
