- ANOTHER SOLID PERFORMANCE FROM ALAN as the rest struggled
to find form. Tony worked hard to stay in contention and did
well to pull back from 4 down after eight to get within a hole
by the 12th. However, Alan has proved to be the master of the
second half and took three holes in a row to win 4 & 3. Two
pars and a birdie over the last four holes were let down by an
eight on the 17th, otherwise another record score couold have
been on the cards.
- Brother Geoff also managed a birdie in his match against
Mike, but three nines and an eight gave the match to Mike, who
won seven holes from the sixth to the fourteenth to take it 5
& 4.
- Alan lead the Stableford from start to finish, but there
was a good tussle for runner-up. Dave and Geoff were neck and
neck for a while, then Tony came into the frame, followed by
Mike. Dave took over on the fourteenth, but a couple of pars
towards the end gave it to Tony who has sneaked a couple of points
past Geoff in the race forthe championship.
