FOUR-PAR TONY TURNS UP THE HEAT
Geoff and Tony are neck and neck with a week to go.
One of the year's best scoring days, as the Baxter boys fought it out on the penultimate session of the Winter season.
A four point par on the first followed by a three pointer on the second put Tony in the lead. However, Geoff's birdie kept him in contention. With two pars under his belt, Con had moved alongside Tony and Geoff by the third. One hole later, Tony had slipped back a notch.
Another superb par on tGeoff's favourite, the fifth. put him clear in the lead. It was Dave and Mike who shone on the mighty sixth, both coming close to the elusive par. Now it was Geoff in the lead followed by Mike who was a shot ahead of Tony and Con.
Another four point par for Tony put him level with Geoff with two to go. Mike was a point behind and Con had stuttered badly once again to let Steve move ahead. Some poor scoring on the eighth made it Tony and Geoff one ahead of Mike with a hole to go.
Geoff's slip-up gave it to Tony on 21 points with Mike in the runner-up spot on 20.
