SIX GUN COTRELL MAKES AN UNEASY
TRUCE WITH DOC LOADER AND THE DYKE BOYS
The Fort Baxter Winter Stableford of 2003
is shaping up to be an absolute classic. From being a one horse
lead with Geoff winning in a canter, there are now four challengers
for the highly prized Baxter trophy. Gavin put in a solid display
of consistent golf finishing with a level par points total of
36. Only one par, but only one blob and two one pointers. Dave,
on the other hand, started with two double bogies and then turned
up the heat as he clawed his way into the lead at the halfway
stage with level par points. A slight hicup on the twelfth, but
a superb 65 foot put for birdie on the fifteenth put him one-under
for the day. A steady bogie on the next and then double blob
finish. However, with 33 points he put himself ahead of the pack.
Geoff is second, but Gavin pulls alongside Alan in third. Five
points between these four and two weeks to go. What a corker!
