- WHO IS THAT MASKED MAN?
- Well ... he says his name is Geoff, but there
are doubters.
Geoff's swing was as solid as a rock on
Saturday's monthly medal. Three pars and three under net par,
at the turn and he had the medal sewn up. It was the bunkers
that threatened his dominance, as he languished in the sand using
his shortest wedge four times during the first half. Three bunker
shots on the short eleventh, and another one onthe easy thirteenth
also held him back, but character won through, especially with
his magnificent par on the tough twelfth. Gavin was the nearest
threat, especially with three pars in a row at the end of the
first nine. Con could have also challenged, especially with five
pars on his card. Unfortunately, some dodgy antics with the driver,
scuppered his chances.
In the end, it was an up-and-down second
half for Geoff, but good enough to notch up a two-stroke win
for the February medal.
