BUT IT'S TIGHT FOR SECOND AS
DAVE AND AL FADE

Al is reduced to sidekick status, as Geoff takes
charge
A solid start holding handicap until the
seventh and Geof was coasting it, as the others struggled in
the mud. Gavin and Dave were the nearest contenders and each
took a turn in the lead when Geoff went off the boil for a few
holes in the middle. Alan couldn't find his recent form, Tony
was struggling to make ground after a double blob start and Mike
was steadying himself after a disastrous first five that put
him nine points off the lead. However, this was a game of two
halves. Geoff held steady for an easy win, courtesy of three
second half pars which cushioned him against a one point finish
over the last three. Gavin lost his form in the bunkers, Tony
remained erratic whilst Dave and Alan went 55 and 50 over the
last nine. This gave Mike a chance to claw his way back to tie
with Gavin for the two spot with three good pars on the home
stretch.
