MIKE BOUNCES BACK
ONE SHOT OFF THE RECORD TO TAKE JUNE MEDAL
 
The Baxter Boys look happy. There could be drink in it for the caddies.
With Summer here, Mike's spell as a full-time golfer has shown dividends as his scores and handicap have come tumbling down. Last week, he came to earth with a bump, in the form of a horrendous 51. However, this week he was back on form and gunning for Con's record. Three pars on the first five set him up nicely, although he was carrying a double bogie at the fourth. Bogies all the way home, ensured that he wouldn't break the magic 40, but he demonstrated that it is consitancy that leads to good scores as he posted a cool 41 to take the June medal.
With a par on the first, it looked s though Geoff may have been the front runner, but he was unable to maintain this form. Con's 46 was an average score, but with two sevens and two sixes on his card it was clear that he still had the fighting spirit and appetite for pressure that has made him a legend on the Perivale course. Dave's 45 came with three doubles on his card, but was a vast improvement on the previous week's score which was his worst of the year.
