The culmination of the wetest
season since noah attempted the par 5 up Mount Ararat and only
four Baxyer boys made it to the first tee. Dave looking to hold
off a last round challenge from Steve and Geoff and Mike firmly
in the wooden spoon position, but looking for a chance of glory
in the monthly medal.
Mike's brief return to form
took a turn for the worst after a disastrous first three which
found him eight off the lead as Dave's ruthless determination
took him way out in the lead. Steve made a shaky start, but he
knew that he only had to score better than 12 points to start
making a challenge. After four holes, he'd managed four points,
but a three pointer at five gave him hope.
With three pars in a row
Dave's form was looking good, but Geoff had matched him on each
of the first six holes apart from the third. The easy seventh
was Dave's undoing and geoff's salvation. Dave hacked about and
was lucky to score a point resulting from a brilliant putt, but
Geoff slotted one in for a great birdie. With two to go, Dave
looked good for the championship, but Geoff was two up for the
medal.
In the end, Dave managed
to pull one back, but Geoff took the medal glory.
