A flooded Perivale, a quick diversion to Horsenden
and Fort Baxter was running the annual Pitch & Putt Championships
once again, after a year's break. With no body clear about the
rules, there was a long wait before it was confirmed that Alan,
the reigning Champion was in the lead at half way.
Steve took an early lead after bogey, par, but
he blew it on the third, where Con made a remarkable bogie aftertaking
two to get out of the bunker. Mike took a one shot lead after
four, in spite of a poor chip that took him right over the green.
Problems for Mike on fivewhere he got stuck behind a wood pile
and it was a five way tie! Steve's par put him ahead, although
Mike did well to bogie after a drop.
Pars for Mike and Alan put tem in joint lead with
two to go. Steve parred eight to get within one, but Mik misread
the yardage to score a poor five. He parred the last to get alongside
Steve, but they were both a shot off!
