Saturday 10th June The June Monthly Medal
ALAN WALKS IT AS THE BRUVS TAKE HOLD OF SUMMER STABLEFORD Another 43 gives Alan the Medal and a four stroke lead over brother Geoff on the Summer Stableford Leader Board The Bruvs manage to dominate the Baxter score board and at the same time do some male modelling for one of the more select mail order catalogues. Con's return to regular Saturday morning golf boded ill for the opposition as he swept into a tird hole lead for the June medal with three sizzling pars. Only Alan looked like a challenger with two pars and a bogie. Mike was one further behind with the rest struggling. Come the fourth and Alan notches up another bogie , whilst Mike and Con split 18 shots between them. With a two shot lead over Con and Steve, he was away! With 21 shots over the first five holes a challenge to the record was on. Bogie and Par on seven and eight played their part, but triple on the sixth and doble on the ninth, left him three shy with a 43. However, not only did he take the medal, but the longest drive, nearest the pin, lead in the Summer Stableford, low score contest and back on top in the par table! Brother Geoff, remains the nearest challenger for the Summer Champs, with 67 points. After a great Saturday, Al gets cut to 9, so Geoff has three shots a round and plenty of chances.
