With Mike in France ( secret training for
the Spring Tour?) no-one knew for sure which holes Stev and Tony
would have had over the Bruvs. There was a distinct cry of "Oh
no! It's about time you guys knew how to score the game!"
coming from across the Channel.
Question: Guess what time Lastminutedave
dot com arrived.
Answer In good time to make the longest
drive of the day.
Geoff lost the first hole again to reduce
Tony's deficit to one hole and struggled to stay ahead until
the 8th hole when Tony levelled. So it was on to the last where
both balls were lost until Even-handed Dave found them! After
four shots, no-one was on the green, but Tony chipped five foot
past the hole. Geoff's chip was topped and it skidded fifteen
feet past the green.
Geoff needed to chip in, but only managed
to move the ball two feet sideways before eventually finishing
with an eight. Tony sank his putt for a convincing last-hole
win.
In the other game, Steve felt that he was
staying in contention. At the post-match interview the talk was
about the number of times Alan's wayward shots had received a
Hendon Bounce returning to the middle of the fairway. After a
check on the scoring system, it was revealed that STeve was only
one behind at the half-way stage.
