ALAN, TONY AND STEVE MAKE IT THROUGH
Alan's 19 pointer is the best of the day
A stunning 19 pointer by Alan, featuring a par and two birdies, as he demolished whippersnapper Tom to make the semis, was the days best performance. Tony and Steve were the others to make it through, whilst Dave and Con showed two different approaches towards defeat.

stop press ......."I'm too old for this!"
Dave's shock confession.

 Past Partying

 Party Animal

Party legend Dave staggered onto the golf course for Saturday's first round of the Spring Matchplay, nursing the customary hangover and needing two Baxter boys to point him in the right direction for the first green. Opponent Steve quaked in his shoes, knowing that the bigger the hangover the more terifying opponent Dave becomes. However after the first few holes it became apparent that this time the former hellraiser was (to quote Chuck Berry ) Too pooped to pop!

There was a gasp that rippled through the crowd as Dave was heard to say "I'm too old for this!" After a sound three and two thrashing by Steve, he staggered off the course and headed for his afternoon nap.

A good recovery for the evening's party , but he could not prevent his crown being usurped by Baxter's new Party Animal Con, who joined the girls on the dancefloor for a rousing version of the sit-down classic "Boots Upside Your Head." His earlier first-round defeat by Tony confined to the dustbin of fading memory, he gave a performance that Steve Redgrave would have been proud of.
