- RUSSELL'S £1,000 POT NOODLE DASH MADE SUPERMARKET SWEEPSTAKE HISTORY
Even more muddy than last week, but with the sun smiling down, the Baxters produced some dazzling golf in the early stages of the Pot Noodle Trophy. Con and Russell stormed ahead, each scoring four under net par for the first third of the contest. Their matchplay opponents battled bravely and at the turn, Mike was level and Alan just one down. Mike's sixteen points was the only score above net par, as Geoff's 21 moved him into second just a point behind Russ.
Good scoring by Russ gave him a final 38 point total, as Alan faded from the picture. Geoff tried to go with him, but scored double blob during the closing stages. Gavin remained solid for econd place, whilst Con faded a little, as Mike put up a fight in their match, taking it to the last hole but losing by two.
The matchplay now hangs on the result of Dave v Con, whilst Geoff and Gavin chase runaway Stableford leader Russ.
