THE OTHERS THOUGHT THAT RUSSELL'S HAIRSTYLES WERE A HOOT

Incredibly muddy, but only the occasional light drizzle and a couple of temps to deter the boys. A fantastic runaway start for Geoff, with a good par on the fourth to go four under handicap after five holes. Extreme hard luck and two lost balls later, he suffered a pair of blobs, as Mike pulled alongside. Two points over the next four holes and Mike's day was over, as Russell made a tremendous charge for the line. Sixteen holes in 37 points gave him a clear victory, a rare defeat for Con and a title-challenge end for Tony.

Geoff, Tony and Alan continue to impress in 2007, whilst the three Stableford leaders from last year are languishing at the bottom of the tables. Con's win over Gavin kept him in the title race, whilst his handicap goes up to 15.

After a legthy debate in the clubhouse, it was unanimously agreed that the 2006 matchplay must be completed by next week, however nobody had a readout of the matchplay situation and it transpired that Dave will be a major player in the outcome. As his absence has been signalled well in advance, it is likely that everyone will agree to one last extension to the season.
