The Kid and his dad stitch up Geoff and Russ
THREE DOWN, FIVE TO GO!
Just the four players this week, as the rest of Fort Baxter was in carrot-crunching land, fighting it out for the Center Parcs Challenge. Newcomer Al walked away with that trophy, whilst the Cotrells took on all comers in a matchplay shot-out. Tom managed to hit his best form of the season, as he took three good wins, whilst Gavin improved his chances of taking the last Stableford of the year with a fine 36 pointer. Shot of the day belonged to Russel, who holed from 100 yards on the ninth to claim a birdie. Geoff slipped back into the 100s, after having had a good run recently. However, his par on two made him favourite to take the Low Score Trophy. The only person to have scored par on either of the first two holes and with eight out of the ten hardest holes potted, he would be a deserved winner. The assembled players decided not to claim a medal and sportingly gave the rest a chance by postponing that competition to next week.
