MIKE KEEPS UP THE PRESSURE!
Another birdie keeps Mike on top
MIKE HATED THAT TREE ON THE SECOND
Mike was the only player to get to grips with the course on Saturday. His blobless round set the competition alight, as he starts next week two shots behind Con, both players challenging for Russell's 43 chart-topper. Tony bounced back from his break with a good win against off-form Alan. He fought hard against Mike, who zapped him with a four-hole streak to win on the 13th. Russell also had a two-match game, losing aginst Geoff but trouncing Dave, who had one of his off-days.
Mike's thirty seven points were a result of solid, if unspectacuar play. Just the two holes better than bogie, but no blobs either. A good putt for birdie on eleven, extended his lead in the Low Score, although he was unable to tick off any new holes. Geoff's four blobs detracted from some great play. Once again, he seems to get those holes that nobody else can conquer. He parred the first and got another three pars and a birdie. It could be a classic match between Geoff and Mike, next Saturday.
