"AIM IT A BIT LEFT!"
Gavin & Tom were a formidable duo, when it came to reading a putt
On a dark, winter morning, only Tom could manage to bogie the first and only Mike could bogie the second. As they approached the third, the Baxters had scored eight blobs between them. It was looking like a sorry day, but with Con and Tom parring the next, things started to look brighter. Gavin was the first to edge forward, as he gradually took control of his match against Con. Three pars and twenty points at the turn and the day was looking much better than his blobby start had predicted.
Mike was struggling with his swing, after his spell in hospital, but his putting was outstanding, enabling him to turn in second place.. However, he was four behind Gavin who was on a roll until a blob on ten. Pars on eleven and thirteen, put him back on target against Con, who then fought back to take it to the last. After going in the water, Gavin hit a sensational chip and putt to win by one and take the overall day in 34 points. Tom was second with a seven and six victory against Tony. A conolation for Con was his win against Geoff, whilst Dave continued his return to form with victory over Alan. A twenty foot put on seventeen and a chip-in on the last put a smile on Mike's face as he finished third with 30 points.
