Some considered Tony to be a bit of a bandit
Exhilarating, icy conditions signalled the start of what could be a long, hard Winter. Alan got off to a good start to head Mike in their match and par the first. Nobody else scored more than a point, as the ball bounced wildly on the icy ground. Mike was the first casualty of the conditions, as his blobless run came to an end, with his ball ditching and then bouncing off the green. The seven players only managed four points between them on this hole and it was Alan who went into a clear lead. The play steadied on the third and there was now just the one point in it, but by the fifth Tony had established a lead that he was never going to surrender. With five pars and a birdie on his card, he romped to a 37 point victory, that could have been devastating had it not been for two blobs on the way home. Once again, Dave came off worst, as he met yet another player on form.
Yet another second place for Mike, who shrugged off his blob and established a new blobless run to crush Alan 5&3. Gavin showed signs of a comeback, with a solid 32 point third place and a draw against Tom.
