- THE SANTA CLASSIC
- The Bruvs' victory celebrations stun the crowd at the bar.
A thrilling season eended with a thrilling contest. Plenty of Christmas spirit, as Fort Baxter celebrated with the Santa Classic. Mike took an early lead, his steady play capitalising on the mistakes of others. However, he took a tumble at the fourth and hit a string of one-pointers, as the field started hitting par. It was now developing into a contest between the bruvs, who took the turn in a solid 18. Dave was only a point behind, but Con and Mike were lagging.
The second half, and it was a different story. Con shot three pars in a row, narrowly missing birdie on the tough twefth. Alan was fading fast, Mike was holding steady, but Geoff could not be caught. Only Dave could get anywhere near Geoff, and the others battled it out for third, which was eventually tied by Alan and Con, with Mike a shot out.
With the season at an end, Tom continued his convalesence in New Zeland, knowing that he had scooped the Stableford trophy. Alan took the Low Score and Con the Matchplay. It only remained for the Bruvs to down a few jars, get their kit off and thrill the crowd with the Dance of the Dyke Boys!
