AL STORMS TO MEDAL VICTORY
Storming second half wins it, as Mike and Tony fade away.
- Al celebrates in style!
A hard fought contest started with Mike and Tony battling for the lead. Nine strokes on the first gave Alan a massive task, with Geoff and Dave only going one better. An eight by Mike, on four, gave Tony the clear lead, but Mike's par on five put him a stroke behind, with Alan bouncing back fast.
Steady play from Mike, put him in the lead on the eighth and he held on gamely, as Alan piled on the pressure. By the twelfth, it was all square. At this point, Mike started firing blanks, as Al stamped his superiority with par on fourteen and two more to finish. Geoff, who had experienced a quiet game, took advantage of Mike's collapse and tied him for second, a clear eioght shots of the lead.
