- A blistering second half saw Al recover from a nervous
start to charge through the field and claim a share of the record
for Sunbury. It was brother Geoff who took the early lead,
but three eights over four holes saw his challenge blown away.
- Mike started steadily with pars on four and six putting him
alongside Al, but in spite of a further four pars, his driving
let him down again and three eights saw his challenge fade.
- Con had a steady, if uninspiring debut at Sunbury and a string
of bogies saw him swapping the lead with Mike throughout the
game. However, he came to life at the end and was only prevented
from a four par finish by a wayward O.B. at sixteen.
- Tony's 12 at the third blew him away. A reasonable five on
that hole would have put him in third place for the day.
- Alan's five pars over a seven hole stretch gave him a great
40 pointer and a cut of handicap leaving him the clear leader
with 17.4
