- GEOFF DEFEATS MIKE
WITH BIRDIE SHOW

- Con got the Fever on Saturday, as he chipped in for
birdie on 17, whilst Mike was thinking about Manana, as
he lost his second matchplay in a row to Geoff's sensational
double birdie display. Steve was needing Black Coffe, after
his less than successful return to Brent Valley.

- Dave lead the match from start to finish, but Con clawed
back a three stroke deficit at the ninth. He, sensationally chipped
in for birdie on 17 take the lead for just one hole. Dave got
back into red figures on the last, but under the countback rule,
Con was handed the all important Peggy Lee Trophy.

- In the matchplay, Mike was struggling with his game all morning.
However, Geoff was struggling more and with a two hole lead after
seven he needed to produce the goods. Mike putted out for par
on eight, but Geoff bettered with a birdie. Tangled up in the
trees and scoring 14 on the next three holes, Mike was behind.
He leveled the game for a couple, but then went haywire on the
easy 15th. Needing at least a half on the par three, he looked
good with his second par. However, geoff hit him hard with his
second birdie. Twoo wins to tie the game looked within his grasp,
as Geoff went into double figures on seventeen, but a brilliant
shot to the green by Geoff helped him tie the last for victory.

- Steve struggled to get a score in his round, but fought back
gamely from three down after seven. Holding on to Tony by one
stroke from ten to twelve, he could have done something, but
Tony suddenly took three in a row to make it a four and three
victory.
