- Five pars including the mighty fourteenth
and Con continued to stamp his authority on a weak Fort Baxter
field. With the wind and mud taking its toll, there was only
one person making no excuses. geoff was reeling after five holes,
with a four shot margin to make up. the best he could do was
to win sixth on handicap and level a couple of holes, but it
was all over by the 12th.
- Mike and Alan seemed to be doing their
best to throw the match, as they could only beat double bogie
on half the holes. Mike seemed to have the upper hand, but three
chip-ins from Al and some staggeringly poor chipping from Mike
ensured that the match went to the last. With Al leading by one,
the final hole tie ensured an against the odds victory.
