with Dave ends in victory on the last.
- As the ground thawed and the mud thickened,
Fort Baxter struggled to maintain last week's standards. However,
there was another close set of scores that had everyone battling
to the last. In the Matchplay, Dave and Con were never more than
a hole apart. It took a par on the seventh for Dave to break
the deadlock, but then he slipped with a seven on the easy eighth.
Anopther fantastic drive on nine handed him the lead again, although
his drive on ten was too fantastic and found itself in the ditch.
Bouncing back with a par, he faced his jinx patch and sure enough
lost two holes on the par threes. He pulled level by being the
least bad on fourteen but then completely screwed up another
easy hole. Par on sixteen saw things level, but Con dropped his
only par to take the leqad with one to go. After a struggle on
the last, Con gave Dave a chance of a tie, but his long put just
swerved over the last six inches.
- In the Stableford, Dave and Con battled
for the lead, as Geoff quietly battled back from another poor
start. Con was three points clear with three to go, but there
was a great battle for second. Geoff fionally sneaked in with
ten points over the last four holes, whilst Mike's nine points
gave him a third share of third place along with Alan and Dave.
