SOME OF THE BOYS FOUND IT HARD TO CONCENTRATE, WHEN PLAYING WITH RUSS
Even after a two stroke cut, Russell had no trouble dominating the day's play at Uxbridge on Saturday. Scoring at a steady two points per hole, he kept nearest challenger Dave at bay until the ninth, when he unleashed a superb 5 point birdie to streak five points ahead at the turn. Dave had a solid back nine with a couple of pars helping him on his way to a handy 34 point total. Once gain, the easy 17th proved tricky, but at least he scored a point this week.
The Bruvs had a thrilling match, with Geoff taking control from the sixth. Making the green in two on the last, Alan's three-putt manged to earn him a tie. With three players making their minimum five games, this Summer, Russell looks well in control of the Stableford. With more players making five games next week, the position of the challengers should take shape. Alan has taken the lead in the Low Score contest and it is up to Tom to see if he can challenge him for third place in the Matchplay.
