THE BOYS WARNED TOM ABOUT DAVE'S COBRA
Tom got the big one out and gave the boys a hiding. With in-form star Con away, no-one was able to keep pace with the young-gun, as he notched up thepoints and gave Dave a good hiding in their match. The most dramatic hole was the seventh, where he missed an ace by three inches.
Meanwhile, Mike came up against another off-form player to win his fifth match in the league. Although Alan fought gamely, he chalked up a string of mistakes and was behind from the start. He ended the match down two with one to go. He could have taken a bigger beating, had it not been for his tremendous fighting spirit. Typical of this was on the par three sixteenth, needing a draw to stay in the match he recovered for bogie, after being in the trees for two. As Tom strolled to a seven-point victory, the race was on for second place, where it was mostly a tusstle between Tony and Gavin, until Mike edged his way in. A blob on the last for Gavin and a par for Tony settled it, as Gavin had to settle for fourth with Mike and Tony tied.
