GAVIN'S GOLF COACH DEMANDED BLOOD!
Although he looked unusually pale, Gavin put in a terrifying performance on the golf course.
Another frosty morning with the ball skidding and bouncing unpredictably on the rock-hard greens. It was a morning when the blood ran cold, as Fort Baxter fought for the Grasndpa Munster trophy. Howevr, Gavin was looking fresh and determined, as he arrived fresh from the blood bank, where he had just made a sizeable withdrawal. He started well and in spite of blobbing the fourth, he went into a seven-up situation against Geoff after eight holes. By the time he had reached the twelfth, he had polished off the game and had overhauled Alasn for the overall lead.
Al was having a solid game, spot on handicap after eleven. However, he had not seen off Tom, who determinedly hung on to his shirt-tail, waiting for the chance to pounce. It was on the fifteenth that he struck. A superb long putt to the edge of the hole, contrasted with Alan's four putts from off the fringe. He took the lead for the first time. A nervous drive on the seventeenth lead to an all-square finish. Each player bogied the last giving them a point apiece.
Mike had been playing steady, but unspectacular golf, which put him in with a good chance of the runner-up spot and a blobless round. Unfortunately, his day was blighted as he miss-hit his chip to the green on the last and blobbed out.
