But the rest was history!
Little is known of Con's early days with Atlantic Records
It was an icy morning and the boys were having great difficulties with the hard ground. Six blobs on the first hole warned of the danger that was to come. But it was Con who threatened first with a stunning par on two. Another par on the next an he was away. Although he only managed a 29 pointer, his total of four pars and six bogies was enough to see him score a convincing victory over Dave and to lead the Wilson Pickett Memorial most of the way. The ojnly real challenger seemed to be Gavin, who nudged ahead from the eleventh to the thirteenth,as he trounced a sadly off form Tom. Unfortunately, once he'd sealed the match, he could only manage another three points to finish third.
It was Alan, who showed the most consistency, as he shot four pars and eight bogies.. Tieing with two to go, he hit O.B. on the seventeenth to slip one behind. He drew level on the last, only to lose on countback. Meanwhile, Mike' form deserted him and he could not manage a single par. Tony was even more off colour, giving him an easy victory and a clear lead in the league.
