The stakes were high in the Beard Of The Year contest
It looked to be Tony all the way, as he established dominance over Alan on his way to a 3 & 2 victory. A superb long putt on 12 for birdie kept him in the lead for the trophy, with only Dave looking threatening. Going for a back-to-back victory against Gavin, Dave dropped a mere stroke from par between eight and eleven, he then kept up some steady pressure to beat Gavin 4 & 3 and to score a cool 33 points for overall victory. Tony had been level handicap, after twelve holes, with a tournament lead of 24 points. Unfortunately, he suffered a big collapse with a mere three more points. Geoff socred 28 points to beat Russell 6&4, and it was yet another second place for Mike with 31 points.
