Tom catches Mike & Geoff by surprise
With pars on the first three holes, it looked like Alan was going to make another assault on the record books. However, Tom was holding his own in their match and after a blob from Al, he had tied it by four and the leading by five. By hole seven, Tom took the lead in the trophy contest and was never headed. Alan kept within one hole in their match, but let it slip on fourteen and ended losing three and four.
Geoff and Mike were the nearest contenders as they battled out in their matches against Con and Dave. By the eleventh, they tied second place and kept within two points for a few holes. Mike was keeping a steady two holes aheaqd of Con, who was having a nightmare roound. Geoff was always three or four ahead of Dave. They each finished off their opponents with two holes to go and then battled it out for the runner-up spot, which Mike could claim by drawing on the last. In the end, honors were even, as Geoff holed a massive putt for birdie.
