"I'M ON MY WAY !"
Russ does a turn at the bar.
Al took the early lead, but went astray towards the end of the first half. Once again, it was Russ who proved to be more consistant,holding off challenges from Dave and Mike. Geoff came into the frame at the turn and shared the three-way tie for second, as Russell kept three ahead.
A couple of pars from Mike at 14 & 15 nudged him into the lead, but he staggered over the last three, giving Russ the win by two. Con and Tony had tough firt halves, but both finished strongly on 42 & 45 respectively. Everyone was finding it hard to play bogie golf, with Mike doing best with 10. In the end, it was the blobs that influenced the game most. Russ scored no pars, but only hit one blob. Con and Alan shared seven pars, but accounted for eleven blobs.
The following week featured a magnificent game of two halves. Mike set a blistering pace with three pars on the first five.He managed the first seven holes in a mere 32 strokes. He then started hitting out of bounds, totalling 26 strokes over the next three. A couple of fives over the next couple, still had him leading, but two pars kept him ahead. To hit a mere eleven points over the first nine, but he charged through the second half to tie the game.
