Alan's role as Ted's butler involved more than serving up the carrots and greens
Al was in cracking form on Saturday, as he had a stab at the Stableford leadership. With Gavin and Tom absent, he hit a superb 82, featuring six pars on the outward nine. His three-over total of 38 looked to set him up for another Baxter record. Another couple of pars on the back nine were not enough to undo the dmage of three double bogies and he ended on a record-equalling 82. His 39 points pushed him up the table and in this form, with two weeks to go, who knows what could happen? Dave and Tony also had good rounds, with Dave parring half of the first eight.
