Mike quietly remembers Richard Whitely down at the pub
Three birdies in four weeks for Geoff shows the quality of his swing, but lack of consistency remains his downfall. It looked good on Saturday, as he played solid bogie golf, relying on Mike's mistakes on six and seven to put him in the lead in a really tight trio. However, a nasty nine on nine was the first of four blobs which put him out of contention. Mike scored a nice par to go with the two that he got on the opening holes, putting him back in the lead.Tom was struggling with a run of sixes on his card, but hit three pars in a row, nudging into the lead after a three-way tie on 13, Geoff's birdie putting him back in the match. It was Tom's turn to hit a nine and, by the fifteenth, Mike was leading by two. Another par for Tom gave him hope, but Mike stayed cool to take it by three strokes.
