"PLAY IT AGAIN, TOM!"
Tom was something of a hero at school
The standard of play was high, as the boys scored five birdies on Saturday. Tony had an up-and-down game, scoring two blobs and eight single pointers, in fact, he only hit handicap on one hole. However, he scored two magnificent birdies along with five three pointers to chalk up a respectable 33 points. Alan, also had his share of poor holes, with two eights on his card. Approaching the ninth, he was four points off handicap, but a birdie and a par over the next three helped him along. His second eight came on the par three 14th and he was now eight shots adrift with four to play. With steely resolve, he birdied the next and parred all the way home for a terrific 35 pointer.
A more consistent round for Tom, with a birdie on three. Four more pars along the way set him up for a great score, but the only blob on the last left him with a fine, if not sensational, 37 points. A mere four points now separates the two Cottrells, who seem to be destined for a late Summer shoot out for the trophy.
