Joan is charmed by Alan's account of his golfing exploits
A magnificent battle for the Joan Hogan Trophy, as Alan and Dave chalked up ten pars and four birdies between them. It looked like Gavin and Geoff early on, but Al hit three pars and a couple of birdies to take the yurn in 20 points, whilst Dave hit a birdie on the third to move within one of the lead at the seventh. He then scored an incredible one-under over the next four holes, giving him a two point lead. Mike was the only one within spitting distance, as he battled twards his two-hole victory over Tom.
Dave was now going for the record, whilst Alan was struggling. Four holes to go and it was a five shot lead for Dave. Now it was Alan's turn, as he hit three pars in a row. One hole to go and Dave had a one stroke lead and needed a birdie on the last to equal the Fort Baxter record. The tension was too much, resulting in an eight for Dave and victory for Alan. Al also won his match against Tony, whilst Geoff beat Gavin on the last.
