Gavin's skill as a protest singer was never fully appreciated
As April draws to a close, the Stableford competition begins to take shape.With a solid game against Con, which resulted in a last-hole tie, Gavin chalked up the first five scores on the board. He is alreadyt looking good for a shot at the title this year, although Tom and Tony have also shown some early form.
The matchplay is really warming up, as Alan started his second roound with a solid win over Mike and Dave beat Geoff. With a four point advantage over a tight field, Tom has set himself up as the man to beat.
Gavin beat the field with a 31 pointer on a day that proved to be heavy going due to the thick rough.It was Geoff who made the pace for most of the day, but a blob on seventeen forced him into a three way tie for third. Con's five on the last gave Gavin the win by one. Shot of the day was Con's approach on two, which was eighteen inches away from an eagle.
