TOUR UPDATE
NOW IT CAN BE TOLD!
Photos emerge, showing what went on behind the Prince's back
The thick fog that had descended on the Ruislip course, was no threat to the fearless Baxter boys, as they set off on the Monaco Grand Prix Remembrance Medal. The big match was netween the golfing Titans Al and Con. Each player needing three to pierce the mist and hit the green, first Alan hit a sensational 30 footer, only to be matched by Con's pressure put from twelve. It was game on! However, back to reality on the next, as Alan won the hole by two shots with a soft eight. From then on, it was cut and thrust up to seven, each player grabbing another par. At this point, Alan's confidence was hit by a six on the par three, after a sorry spell in the bunker. Up to the fourteenth, Con hit a further three pars and a birdie to leave Alan burried in another bunker, needing six to get out. It was all over bar the record attempt. Was it possible that Con could set up a new Ruislip record with a ten on his card. His play was looking so good, that nothing was beyond him. A four-par finish could do it, and on this course, it was well within his capabilities. However, with the match sewn up, the spark went out of his game, which finished with two bogies and two doubles. Gavin carded a good 37 pointer to miss out by one and to go down to Tony in the match play. The French touring party suffered a big come down, Dave scoring the best with 28. Geoff could not find his game at all and went down to Tom, scoring a mere twenty points.
