GEOFF IS STILL GETTING FLASHBACKS FROM THE GONZO
It was a start-to-finish victory for geoff, as he cruised the Easter Bunny. It looked as if Mike was going to be the challenger, as he tied after four, but three blobs over the next five holes saw off his chances. Russell held on to the second place for some time, scoring steadily, but it was Dave who showed the staying power as he scored four pars in the nine holes from the seventh.
There were three tight matchplays going on. Mike and Gavin semed to be competing to see who could play the worst golf. In spite of a paltry 26 pointer, Mike beat Gavin 2&1. Tony looked to be coasting against Tom, going three up at the third-way mark, but couldn't withstand Tom's finishing and went down 4&3.
It was a tight game between Con and Dave, all square at the seventh, but then Con looked good, taking three in a row. However, dave started hitting Pars and tied with a hole to go. After a disastrous nine at the seventeenth, Con was shot to pieces and fell apart, his eight on the last handing Dave a well-earned victory. The star of the day, had to be Geoff. Thirty seven points, with two blobs. His total of 92 could have been so much better. A poor tee-shot on nine and a stay in the bunker on eleven, cost him dear. He could have easily scored five better, but with the new season starting next week, who would bet against him.?
