A solid start for Tom, but then the wheels came of and gave the challengers a chance. With no-one holding handicap, it was up to Alan to make a challenge. With seven holes gone, it was Alan leading by one point from Tom, Mike and Gavin. With a blob on the next, Al gave the lead to Tom then parring nine to tie, with Mike a shot back.
With a seven to start the back nine, Al gave up the lead and had to sit alongside Mike, a shot down on Tom, who now edged into the lead. Back-to-back pars on thirteen and fourteen, gave him a share of the lead, as Mike suffered a second-half collapse.Disaster on the fifteenth, redeemed by par on seventeen and it was all square with one to go.By this time, Tony had edged his way to within one of the lead. The final hole saw Tom par for victory and Tony overtaking Alan for the runner-up spot.
