AL SHOWS A BIT OF MAGIC
Stunning start let down by a few wayward holes, but Al shows there are plenty of tricks in the bag.
"Honk twice if you love me!"

Par-bogie-birdie par - With a start like that, it looked odds-on that Al was going to crucify Geoff in his matchplay and storm away with the day's highest points. However, he showed that he was still mortal with seven over for the next two holes. From then on he became locked in a classic matchplay with Geoff making a big charge towards the end.

Another classic was in the making, as Mike and Dave battled it out, each player staggering to find form.For fourteen holes, they were never more than one apart. This, in spite of Mike shooting two horrendous blobs on four and seven.

The other match saw Tom and Tony trading blows until the seventh when Tom pulled away for a convincing 4 & 2 win. Russell continued his strong form with a good nineteen points on the first half and a share of third place with Mike. Geoff pulled back to one down and two to go, butr blew the seventeenth. Al was overall winner, with Tom putting in a useful second place. Mike pulled ahead of Dave and it was all on the penultimate hole, with Mike drawing and winning two and one. A good recovery for Mike, who converted a 57 first half to a sub-ton.
