With the season drawiing to a close, everyone was aiming to make a move and to notch up a good score in the "Spiderman 2 - Super Villain Trophy". However, things were looking mighty flat, with nobody scoring a par for the first seven holes. Mike was leading with a handicap-equalling score and was four points clear of Tom who was battling his slice in his match with Dave. On the eighth, Alan produced a spectacular put to score birdie, setting up a mighty charge over the next few holes. With a bogie, a par and another birdie, he stormed ahead of Tony and was able to seal his match 5 & 3.

Meanwhile, Tom had straightened his swing and was playing some solid golf. This resulted in a good 5 & 4 win over Dave and a solid 35 pointer which increased his Stableford to a mighty 179. However, Mike made a massive break on 14. Although he had not carded a par up to this point, he was on handicap and playing steadily. Suddenly, he birdied the tricky par-three hole for five points. He ditched on the par five, but a 150 yarder and a one-put earned him a further two points. In spite of dropping a point on the next, he parred the last two. His 40 points moved him 12 points up the table to take a lead of one from Tom. With a two-stroke cut in handicap, things are delicately poised for next week's showdown. Alan seems to have the Low score in the bag, whilst Tony still leads the matchplay.
