- That night, back at the Cottrell's, the day's glories are re-lived.
Aftger a poor turnout for the season's opener, six Baxter boys set out to make their mark on the Summer season. With the grass tees offering a different perspective on many of the holes and the rough adding to the diificulty of the course, only Gavin managed to steer his way to a decent score.
Dave scored a great birdie and a couple of pars, but wayward hitting destroyed his total, contributing to six blobs. This was one more than Geoff, who blobbed just the one hole going out, which saw him leading for the most part. Unfortunately, four blobs on the last seven holes left him reeling and finishing the first two games of the season with an average of 26. Tom managed a decent second half to leave him with a respectable 30 points, which was not on the cards after a dodgy first nine.
