There's no stopping Dave, this season, as he goes from strength to strength. A shaky start showed no signs of the fireworks to come, as he only scored one point over the first two holes. Geoff, Tony and Gavin seemed to be the contenders, after three holes. However 15 points from the next five holes put Dave ahead and runnning. After the turn, he scored a par and a birdie to send him on the way to a possible record score. His two slip-ups were doubles on the easy dog leg and the penultimate hole, which is becoming a stumbling block to many a good score. However the twelve hole stretch from the fourth netted a birdie and seven pars, yielding 36 points. A total of 84 strokes and 41 points ensured an almost uncatchable place at the top of the Stableford and a certain handicap cut putting him alongside Alan on 17. With three Saturdays to go, it looks like the pack will be chasing Gavin for second place. Con, Geoff and Mike have a point between them, but don't rule out Tom, who is capable of a big move. Alan has been sadly missed this season, but three big scores from him could see another upset.
