With Con looking shaky and Mike having another terrible start, it looked like the Cotrells were going to dominate the Les Gray Memorial. After four holes, father and son shared a comfortable lead, playing net par. As Tom blobbed five, Gavin took his second par and was off. However, a blob on six and Gavin went into decline. Con and Mike, both surged ahead. Con hit three pars and a birdie in a four-hole stretch to go into a handicap-reducing lead which took him to victory. Mike hit four pars on the second half to add 21 points to his 15 point opening. Tony hit three pars to improve his status in the Low-Score competition. Con is now making a firm showing in all competitions. He leads the matchplay and has overtaken Dave in the Low-Score. With four weeks to go and Con off on his travels, it looks as if it's between Dave and Gavin for the Stableford, but the others still have a chance, if they can muster a strong finish.
