 GAVIN SHOWS THE WAY

 Gavin holds on to his lead as Alan and Dave snap at his heels

As October approaches its end, Fort Baxter had to face the twin challenge of a twilight start and the occasional temporary green. It was Gavin and Alan who set the early pace, only dropping one shot to handicap over the first eight holes, as Dave worked hard to catch them after a blob start.

Around the turn, Alan struggled and Dave became first the challenger and the the leader. By the 14th however, Gavin took the lead again, whilst Alan threw in a couple of pars to make it interesting. With Dave flunking the 17th there was one point between the three of them, but Gavin held on for one of the tightest Stableford wins for quite a while.
