With Mike still leading at the half-way stage, this was the time for the Bruvs to put on the pressure. And with a par each over the first two holes and Mike scoring three blobs over the first four, things were looking exciting.
Mike started to steady and it was the Bruvs' turn to make blobs. After eight holes, Mike took the lead by two, with Geoff and Al level. Now it was Mike's turn to go into a serious decline. As he shot ball after ball into the rough, he could only manage two points over the next five holes.
It was now a battle between the Bruvs, with Geoff going into the lead.On the 13th. Alan recovered from an O.B. to salvage a point, as Geoff struggled to a ten. All square with five to play.
Geoff just had the edge on a few holes and managed to win the Crosby Cup with three strokes to spare.
The Trevose trophy was now up for grabs. One round to go and Geoff lead Mike by one, with Alan a further one behind.
