After a hard day's fishing and a long journey down to Cornwall, some of the boys were finding the first day heavy going. Mike seemed to be the most relaxed, as he showed some pretty consistent form.
Dave was also looking good and for most of the day, he battled Mike most of the way. Collapsing on the last two holes, he left Mike in a pretty strong position for The Doberman, after day one.
Geoff hit four blobs on the first nine, but managed three 3-pointers to keep him in the hunt.
Sadly, Dave was called away on the second day and was unable to continue in the trophy. Mike was unable to capture his first day's form and started on a long decline. This gave Alan the chance to make a sensational comeback and win the match.
Mike was struggling, as he saw his lead draining away. A par on sixteen gave him hope and two good shots on the par five had him looking good for par. However, his approach shot just hit sand and a par turned into a blob. A par on the last could not save him, as Alan finished with triple par top keep the 'Dobe' in the family.
