Time for Dave and Mike to avenge their 5&4 defeat of 2005. With the Bruvs struggling to find their first-day form and Dave and Mike battling it out for trophy points, it started to become a one-sided skirmish.

At the turn, Mike and Dave were four up. An excellent bogie from Mike at the tricky 10th, followed by a par on the daunting par three was followed by a stunning chip into the hole from Dave for a par on the hardest hole. The match was all over, with six to go. However, there were trophy points to be had and Alan seemed to be recovering from his lack of form, as he he hit par -birdie on the next two holes. Dave was floundering now and Mike was gritting it out to the end.

The weekend showed the players in their most erratic form. Mike had established an early lead, Dave was on the slide, Alan was bouncing back from a poor start and Geoff was holding a steady, if not convincing, form.
