DAVE AND MIKE TAKE IT ON THE 19TH!
A great competition, with never more than a hole in it at any stage. Dave suffered a nightmare start with three blobs and as many lost balls. A couple of tens, followed by a par three eight shook his composure a little, but he came back by winning two holes in a row. From then on, it was 'neck and neck'. Con and Geoff just managed to sneak a lead at the turn, but Dave squared it on the 10th with a fine bogie 6. This looked a cert to be extended as Mike put a fine drive over the lake with the others finding water. However, after he'd played a couple of air-shots in a grass bunkerhe faded out of contention and Geoff moved his team ahead with a dramatic 8.
With the next hole halved, it was up to Dave again and his bogie par five squared the match until Mike put them ahead on the 15th.
With three holes to go, Con rose to the occasion and chalked up two winners to take his team into a one-hole lead. After a couple of encounters with the branches he had to come off second best to Mike and Dave who each managed two pointers to square the match.
The sudden death play off finished on the first hole as Mike sunk his put for a good five on the first hole at Arras, the next morning.
